Artist statement
I am a mixed media artist exploring the various realms of the internet age and technology. I aim to explore how memory is affected by the digital age by creating an alternate universe viewing experience through my works. My body of work mainly entails an exploration of design, architectural and psychological concepts through an abstract lens with an experimental approach.
Bio
My name is Giada James and I am a student artist pursuing a BFA at Tufts University. I was born in Petersburg, VA and grew up in Europe. I mainly work in digital mediums such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere and AfterEffects. I also work in moving image mediums such as video, installation and animation where I have extensive experience through having completed coursework in these and having worked in a studio assistant position for a professor of the practice. In my practice I also experiment with drawing, collaging and photography in my works. I am interested in exploring the various realms of the internet age and technology through a psychological lens through my works. Additionally, I am a US Army Reservist currently enrolled in the SMP program through MIT ROTC and a Reserve unit to gain leadership experience.

I am a digital media student artist and co-founder of Echoing Forms, an online gallery platform. Currently pursuing a BFA degree in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia at Tufts University, I specialize in digital design using Adobe Creative Suite and also explore drawing, collaging, and photography. My work focuses on abstract interpretations of design, architecture, and psychology. Alongside my studies, I have experience as an Academic Tutor, Human Resources Specialist in the US Army, and COO at Derby Entrepreneurship Center. I am skilled in graphic design, fluent in English and Italian.
